We're heading down to the Lodi Sacramento area for Christmas so I thought it would be fun to go for a paddle at some of our old stomping grounds and invite you to come join. I posted this as a skills paddle because I plan on practicing strokes an coaching folks along as they have questions. I'll be joined by my friend and ACA Instructor Sean Duffy. The plan is to paddle from the Barge Canal Access in West Sac, over to Washington Lake and back. We will tour around, work on skills and enjoy the company of fellow paddlers. Very Low Key!
KEY Points:
1. There is a bit of a walk to the water so I suggest a cart if you have one.
2. Most of us will be in longer touring kayaks. You are welcome to join us, but ask that your kayak have at least one bulkhead, and that you are comfortable paddling at a steady pace without stopping. Wind and chop are always a possibility out here.
3. Proper clothing for cold weather. No Cotton, it will be cold and we do plan on working on skills so please dress and plan for the potential that you may get wet.
4. 11AM we are on the water. Please arrive with enough time to get yourself ready before we launch.
