Frank Amoroso has been called a Babe Ruth historian. He has written more books about the Babe than anyone else. He will launch his seventh Babe Ruth book, Ode to the Baseball Gods – Epic Showdown in Hot Springs, at the Babe Ruth Birthplace & Museum in February 2026. His latest novel unravels the mystery surrounding the baseball gods by revealing the identities and talents of five individual baseball gods. This is the scintillating story of a high-stakes game between Babe Ruth’s Bustin’ Babes and the Al Capone All-Stars that was played in Hot Springs, Arkansas a century ago. Each of the baseball gods plays a major role in the game, often in unexpected and humorous ways.Frank Amoroso is a longtime SABR member and has written articles for the SABR - Baltimore Chop and contributed to the SABR publication The Baseball Palace of the World Comiskey Park a dramatic account of the 1935 Negro League All-Star game.
Frank played Division I baseball and founded the Carolina Mens Baseball League. He still pitches in men’s senior baseball tournaments. Drawing on his love of baseball, Frank writes with precision and sensitivity, using lyrical descriptions that put the reader on the mound, or in the batter’s box along with the Babe. Recounting anecdotes, myth, and humor Frank will enchant, enlighten, and amuse you with his insight into the life and times of an American Icon – Babe Ruth. Mr. Amoroso can be reached at 910-465-0535 or [email protected]. He is available for book clubs, interviews, and speaking engagements.
