January - Merengue Dance Lessons
Merengue dancing is light and playful, making it a great dance for beginners and experts alike. It is danced with “walking steps” with a step taken on each beat of the music. While dancers typically use hip motions with this dance, the amount of hip movement varies with personal preference. This dance is considered to be in the same “family” as Salsa and is popular in the nightclub and social dance scenes. Elena and Ramon will break down the basic steps and patterns in a relaxed atmosphere.
February - Salsa Dance Lesson
Salsa is a sexy, energetic and fun partner dance. Unlike some partner dances, it is a very sociable dance – you don't need to have a regular partner or any partner for that matter. This fun and energetic dance is the most popular of all the Latin dances because it is easy to learn and is fantastic for all ages and dancing abilities. Salsa dancing has many fast turns, exciting footwork, rhythmic hip movements, and lively music.
March - Cha-Cha Dance Lesson
Cha Cha is a lively, fun, cheeky and playful dance. It is characterized as a non-progressive dance, highlighting Cuban motion and a signature “cha-cha-cha” shuffle step, typically performed to lively Latin music that features a syncopated beat and irresistible charm. Many popular songs possess a cha-cha rhythm, and REDS can assist you in expanding your dance knowledge.
What to wear? Come as casual or dressed up as you'd like. Make sure you wear comfortable clothing a shoes to dance in.
