All are invited to a Solitude Sabbath Retreat on Saturday, May 30th! For the maximum benefit of extended time alone with the Lord and rest, it is highly recommended to reserve the whole day for this retreat.
Although the Holy Spirit will be your main guide throughout your day, here are the starting and ending point:
- Option to carpool from Oak Ridge Wesleyan Church at 8 am (please notify me if this is your plan).
- Meet up at HavenHouse Eatery and Coffee Bar in Safety Harbor for coffee, devo, and instructions by 9 am. No purchase is necessary...although encouraged...it is actually operated by a local church AND it is a great spot to meet.
- From there we will go off to your choice of Moccasin Lake Nature Park, Kapok Park or Philippe Park - ALL are within 10 minutes or less of downtown Safety Harbor and each have AMAZING opportunities to spend time with the Lord! We will discuss the highlights of each option at HavenHouse.
- Fellowship & Reflection Dinner tentatively planned at The Nona Slice House in Safety Harbor (997 Main St, Safety Harbor, FL 34695). This will be the perfect ending to our time of solitude as we share our experiences and encourage one another in the practices of Solitude and Sabbath.
- Feel free to extend the invitation to your friends!
Please RSVP so I know to expect you. When we meet up at the HavenHouse, we will talk a bit about Solitude, Sabbath and pray together before we head out to be with our Heavenly Father.
You MUST BRING an open schedule! No agenda. No task list. An OPEN HEART and patience as you spend this extended period of time alone with Jesus.
Additional things to "throw in the trunk" just in case the Lord leads...DO NOT feel tied to doing these things - they are only "just in case" or if the Lord guides you to do these things during your day:
- Bible
- Journal & Pens
- Art Supplies
- Worship Playlist & Headphones
- Insect Repellant
- Change of clothes for dinner if desired
I will have simple Solitude Guides for you should you desire to learn more about this discipline.
