Il progetto The Autumn Aurora nasce tre anni fa dall'idea di due bassisti romani, Francesca e Stefano, di fondare un gruppo darkwave con una coppia di bassi. Stefano, in particolare, ha già militato in diverse band conosciute nell’underground romano. The Autumn Aurora ha visto alternarsi diverse formazioni, raggiungendo la lineup attuale nel 2024: due bassi, tastiera, voce e batteria, assestando il proprio sound su un darkwave/post-punk cupo e intenso.
Distintivo il tratto femminile del gruppo, dove l'attuale lineup, oltre a Stefano Ferramola al basso armonico e Fabrizio Mancini alle tastiere, è composta da Francesca Buonpane al basso ritmico, Vera Perkins alla voce e Chiara Bellucco alla batteria.
