Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Sahitya Akademi Awardee Javed Akthar is an unparalleled embodiment of poetic and artistic expression. Belonging to the family of renowned poets, Javed Akhtar also known as Jadoo, followed the footsteps of his film writer- father Jan Nishar Akhtar at a very early age.
Akhtar came to recognition in the duo Salim–Javed and earned his breakthrough as a screenwriter with 1973's Zanjeer. He went on to write the films Deewaar and Sholay, both released in 1975, and Don in 1978.
Javed Akhtar made his debut as a lyricist with Yash Chopra's romantic drama film Silsila in 1981.
Post the successful start as a songwriter, he penned many hit songs for the Bollywood Film industry.
