About this Event
The spread of varroa mite continues to impact beekeepers and our wider community, staying informed and having a plan has never been more important. This is a must for ALL South Australian beekeepers.
Join us for a FREE face-to-face meet up and hear the latest information on SA varroa mite detections and management, local impacts, and what it means for backyard and commercial beekeepers, growers, and the broader community.
The FREE workshop provides information on:
- South Australian Varroa Detection Update
- Integrated Pest Management (IPM) inc. Mechanical and Chemical treatment strategies
- Tools in Developing a Customised Management/Treatment Plan
There are a limited number of seats available. Participants will need to register to attend.
This event is free to attend and is presented by PIRSA Varroa Development Officers (VDO's).
** PRE-REQUISITE LEARNING **
To maximise your learning opportunity especially if you have not attended one (1) or more of the National Varroa Mite Management workshops, or would simply like to review the basics in Varroa Mite biology, behaviour and impacts on the honeybee - It is advised you complete the VARROA BASICS - Online Training before attending.
This online training is expected to take 30 minutes to complete.
VENUE ACCESS DETAILS: Please enter via the main foyer, take the back lifts to Level 21 and head to the reception desk near the lounge, check-in via the QR code and then please wait there for the VDO team.

There is also limited street parking available nearby specifically around Victoria Square Tarntanyangga, or further out around the southern parklands with a short tram ride into Waymouth Street.
