About this Event

On September 30, we welcome musician and songwriter Ryan Nealon for an evening of music, storytelling, and reflection. Accompanied by Matteo Scher, Ryan will share his story of being orphaned as a child, navigating body dysmorphia and past relationships, experiencing loneliness, and finding music as a way to not only process difficult experiences, but make meaning from them. Ryan will perform original songs that bring each part of his story to life.

This evening offers an opportunity to think about the ways we all carry our stories and how music, creativity, and connection can help us process them. Through Ryan’s experiences, we’ll explore what it means to feel alone, what helps us move through difficult seasons, and how we can find connection and hope along the way. The evening will include time for audience questions and conversation, inviting us to consider our own stories and the ways we can create more belonging for ourselves and others.

Belonging in the Age of Loneliness:

Many people experience loneliness or isolation due to life changes or the pull of digital connection that often replaces deeper relationships. Over time, this can quietly impact our wellbeing and sense of belonging. The Forum on the Green will explore this reality with speakers who bring lived experience and insight, helping us understand the causes of loneliness and how we can address it, both personally and as a community.
