Chicago based songwriter Ryan Burns draws inspiration from the rich traditions of folk music around the Midwest and blends them with a wide array of influences pulled from his neighborhood of Logan Square, poetry, and architecture. What transpires is a vibrant set of songs that take audiences on a journey, reminiscent of local heroes Jeff Tweedy, John Prine, and Jason Molina.
His upcoming album, Just Keep Growing, is a collection of songs loosely centered around finding stillness and contentment in a world that constantly demands constant hustle and growth. The original working title was Triptych, as he wanted to present the three of the various connected but disparate elements of his sound: the lone singer songwriter, string band music, and folk inspired indie rock. Just Keep Growing, will be released on October 23.
