RxSolo (SA)Raiël Solomon, known by his stage name RxSolo, is a 27-year-old multi-disciplinary artist hailing from Cape Town, South Africa. A true creative force, RxSolo is a rapper, producer, sound engineer, musician, graphic designer, and filmmaker. His work is a powerful blend of Experimental, Alternative, Jazz, Hip-hop, Soul, and R&B, all woven together with a cinematic approach that sets him apart in the music industry.
Growing up in a coloured community in South Africa, Raiël’s art is deeply rooted in the experiences and struggles of his people. His music and visual projects explore themes of identity, social injustice, and the lingering effects of apartheid, aiming to reclaim and reframe the narratives surrounding marginalized communities. Despite facing significant health challenges, including multiple surgeries and a double hip replacement, Raiël has channeled his resilience into his art, creating work that resonates with authenticity and emotional depth.
Raiël’s journey as an artist is defined by his independent spirit. He has released six self-produced projects, each one showcasing his ability to manage the entire creative process from concept to completion. His music has been featured internationally, and his performances have captivated audiences from Hungary to London. Additionally, his participation in the OneBeat Residency, where he’s an alumni, has further expanded his artistic horizons and global network.
Currently, Raiël is focused on his ambitious project, This Man… Gold Tooth, a multimedia exploration of themes like desperation, mental health, and racial injustice. Through this work, he aims to create a space for dialogue and reflection, while also pushing the boundaries of what music and art can achieve.
Driven by a desire to inspire and empower the next generation of artists, RxSolo is committed to fostering a more inclusive cultural landscape. His work is not just a reflection of his personal journey but a call to action for others to find their voice and tell their own stories.
