The Countdown Begins: Richmond 48HFP Kickoff!Yep! We're a month earlier this year.
This is it—the official start of Richmond's favorite annual filmmaking rite of passage! In just 48 hours, dozens of short films will be born, and it all starts right here. At the Kickoff, the energy is electric as teams from all over the RVA gather to officially start the competition. This is where your creative fate is sealed!
The Main Event: This event is the mandatory launch point for all registered teams.
The Drawing: Every team will draw their Genre at random. Will you be making a Musical? A Western? A Silent Film?
The Required Elements: To ensure every film is made during the 48-hour window, we will reveal this year’s required Character, Prop, and Line of Dialogue.
The Rules: We’ll go over the final logistics and safety guidelines before the clock officially starts.
Who Should Attend?
At least one member of each team is required to be present to check in and receive assignments. While only one person is required, the Kickoff is much more fun when the whole team comes to soak up the atmosphere and brainstorm the second the genre is drawn!
Once the elements are revealed, the clock starts ticking. You’ll have exactly 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit your masterpiece before the 7:30 p.m. Sunday deadline.
