Acclaimed artist Ruth Theodore returns to the English touring scene for the first time since 2021 in celebration of the release of ‘Cherry Picker’, a career spanning compilation album to be released on River Rat on April 28th. To mark the occasion Theodore has assembled an exciting line-up of talented musicians, capable of encompassing the various eras of her career. This new stage show weaves this collection of songs together with gripping stories from her life, as she and her percussive line-up of drums, bass, wood-wind, strings and backing singers, take you on a nostalgic journey - beginning with her days performing on the streets of Southampton to the years of DIY releases and social activism, right up to her recent studio projects in the US with producer/bassist Todd Sickafoose (Anais Mitchell / HadesTown / Ani Difranco). A brand new album born of that collaboration will be released later in 2023.
