In conjunction with our next lecture in our Night School series and National Canadian Film Day, we will be presenting a FREE screening of Sonia Bonspille Boileau’s second dramatic feature, Rustic Oracle, on April 17th. Screenings will be at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm in the DARC Microcinema.Shedding light on the lived realities of Indigenous peoples across the country, Rustic Oracle tells the story of an 8-year-old girl who sets about a journey with her mother to find her missing sister.
Come watch the film, and then join us the following day for an informative conversation about the importance of Indigenous representation in the arts and media, narrative sovereignty and the power of storytelling to educate, share and heal with the filmmaker herself.
