Russian Cello Sonatas

Two pieces written around 1900 and two around 1950 provide 4 very different Russian views of music for cello and piano. From Tansman’s upbeat and energetic Partita thru Glazunov’s singing Chant de Menestral, Rachmaninof’s somber and passionate Adagio and ending with the rich and melodic second sonata of Myaskovsky. This one hour free concert will leave you humming rich melodies.
