KEXP Presents: RUSSIAN BLUE with support from Hot Stepmom and Combobox hits Airport Tavern Music Hall on Friday, July 3, 2026 for a stacked all-ages night of sharp-edged, forward-thinking Northwest rock. Doors open at 7PM, music starts at 8PM.

Backed by a KEXP Presents banner, this show brings together three bands that each hit from a different angle. KEXP’s mission is to champion music and discovery, and Russian Blue feel like a perfect fit for that world. KEXP recently praised the Bremerton six-piece’s album A Modern Analogue for its nostalgic 2000s dance-rock energy, drawing comparisons to early LCD Soundsystem and TV On The Radio, and highlighted them as a standout emerging act from Kitsap County.

Russian Blue blend synthetic post-punk textures with moody momentum and big, off-kilter rhythms, making them the kind of band that can pull you into the room fast and keep the whole place locked in.

Tacoma’s own Hot Stepmom adds hometown heat to the bill, bringing a gritty, emotionally charged alt-rock/punk presence that has made them a real favorite in the local scene, while Portland’s Combobox rounds out the night with a high-energy, sardonic take on crank wave, mixing humor, storytelling, and wiry precision into something weird in the best way.

This is a killer Pacific Northwest lineup top to bottom—fresh, loud, danceable, and just left-of-center enough to make the whole night feel special.
