Concert opener of the 2024-2025 Season, is dedicated to RUSSIA & AMERICA seen from a musical point of view. Forever opposite in cultural upbringing and most of the time, political enemies, the two nations' musical output is very different and depicts a totally opposite cultural landscape.
We would like to pair a few Russian composers with few American composers. Focusing with minimalism, certainly an American stylistic discovery, we will feature music by Philip GLASS, and his Piano Quintet Annunciation along with a few of his Etudes for Piano. On the Russian side, we'll feature the Piano Quintet by Alfred SCHNITTKE along with works for solo piano by female composer Galina USTVOLSKAYA.

Concert will be held at Plymouth United Church of Christ in Downtown Seattle (1217 6th Ave, Seattle, WA 98101). Join us at 7:15pm for a pre-concert talk. Concert begins at 8pm.
