In 1907, a Jewish immigrant named Joel Russ landed in New York City, where he took a pushcart of herring and built a legendary destination for Jewish appetizing that would pass down through his family for more than a hundred years. Cousins Niki Russ Federman and Josh Russ Tupper are fourth-generation co-owners of Russ & Daughters and were both featured in the award-winning documentary, The Sturgeon Queens.
