Once upon a time in y2k at the top floor of 56 Byward Market Sq there was a nightclub and art hub called Mercury Lounge. This building historically has been queer friendly, drag friendly and played a big role in shaping Ottawa's queer arts and drag scene birthing some of Ottawa's biggest drag legends and providing dancefloor memories for so many pre-pandemic.
