What will it take to ensure young people can build meaningful futures — and that our Alexandria community continues to thrive in a rapidly changing world?
Join Alexandria Public Schools, World Savvy, and Lakes Country Service Cooperative for a community forum exploring how schools, local businesses, families, and community leaders can work together to prepare students for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
As technology, workforce needs, and community realities continue to shift, schools cannot do this work alone. This conversation is an opportunity for parents, employers, educators, students, and community members to help shape what future-ready learning should look like — and how young people can graduate with the skills, confidence, and sense of purpose needed to contribute to their communities and local economies.
The forum is part of the Rural Learning Lab, a multi-year initiative supporting educators across Greater Minnesota in creating more engaging, community-connected learning experiences aligned to both student needs and regional workforce priorities. Participants will hear directly from students and educators, explore emerging challenges and opportunities facing rural communities, and help identify ways schools and communities can partner more deeply to strengthen local futures together. This work will be taking place with Discovery Middle School starting in the fall.
