Title: Runoff to Resillience: Protecting the Indian River Lagoon

Description:

Nestled among East Florida’s coastal barrier islands, the majestic Indian River Lagoon (IRL) is 156 miles long and the most biologically diverse estuary in North America. Despite its vastness, the IRL is under threat. Pollutants and excess nutrients are creating an unhealthy environment for marine life, negatively impacting commercial and recreational fishing, tourism, and local economies. The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is piloting a smart stormwater management system, Runoff to Resilience (R2R), to reduce water pollution and create healthier marine and freshwater environments for people and nature. Join TNC in Florida’s Executive Director, Greg Knecht, to learn how R2R is the first watershed scale, cost effective solution to improve water quality in the IRL and beyond.

Speaker: Greg Knecht
