Running Out of Time tells the story of Joseph Anania, a man growing up gay in East Harlem in the 1950s and 60s, hiding his identity in a conservative, Catholic environment.
For decades he lives in secrecy, shaped by guilt and shame, while finding love and community in the shadows.Ultimately, he finds the courage to reveal his true self, transforming his life into one of freedom, resilience, and hope.
