Join us Saturday May 2, 2026!Run with Sandy: Join us on Saturday May 2, 2026 for a 5K Walk/Run in memory of Sandy Mitchell – a cherished educator and passionate runner.
For nearly three decades, Sandy Mitchell educated and inspired students at Western with her love of biology and her zest for life. After her courageous fight with breast cancer ended in May 2017, our community came together to honor her legacy. The Run with Sandy event is a tribute to her memory and a show of support for those still battling cancer today.
Registration starts at 8:00 AM in Western Commons. Choose your pace:
Walk: Sign up for the 8:30 AM slot (3 laps on our outdoor track).
Run: Sign up for the 9:00 AM slot (Gateway/Skyline loop).
Make a minimum $25 donation and receive a special event T-shirt – available while supplies last. Can’t join us in person? Participate virtually by sharing your own run photos using #RunWithSandy. https://www.facebook.com/westernwyoming.edu
