There is so much to choose from here!!Park at the power sub-station just to the south and down the dirt road behind the Talavera Fire Station.
Choose a road run/ride, a short road run/ride to the La Maria Trailhead and onto single track, or a combination of the two. Run/ride up to Chippewa Trail and then north to the Green Gate at the lower end of La Maria Trail and then hop on the trail, or just run/ride straight up Soledad Canyon Road and back on the multi-use path. Or you can do an out and back run/ride on the newly built (and mostly completed) Tortugas Connector Trail that heads to Tortugas Mountain.
Afterward, if you choose, you can join the Southern New Mexico Trail Alliance for a trail work day as they put the (mostly) finishing touches on the same Tortugas Connector Trail.
If you decide to help with the trail work, be sure to bring sustenance and water to have after your run/ride, as well as during the work.
If you don't stay to help then you can group up at a breakfast place after.
