Ded Luvly Present Run Remedy & Big Society.
About this Event

DedLuvly are incredibly excited to showcase these two musical gems, Run Remedy is a well known part of the Manchester music community having played her fiddle on countless records and gigs for every musician we love across our city. It is our pleasure to have her co-headline with the wonderful Big Society, their music is tight and upbeat with an infectiousness about it we can’t wait to hear in the main room of LowFour Studio. We have the ever talented Rory A. Green Opening for this fantastic bunch too. It is shaping up to be one beautiful evening.

This is our first gig of 2023, what a way to kick the year off!

If you want to keep reading about this Luvly lot playing on the night, here are their press releases.

Run Remedy is the musical brainchild of Robin Koob: New Jersey born singer-songwriter, shoegaze violinist, and apostate of the classical world. Citing influences like Aimee Man, Wilco, and Elliott Smith, Robin’s sound has been described as ‘earnest folk-influenced indie rock’ speckled with riffs, noise and 90s references.

From gay realization power ballads, to gloomy retellings of young lives lost, Robin unabashedly engages with emotion, both joyous and tragic. From personal digs, and cheesy one-liners, to cutting metaphor, her songs blend mature themes into swelling exuberant anthems. Her lyrics are literate, down-to-earth and speckled with the irreverence expected from an upbringing as a queer kid of two religious leaders in the suburbs of American Christian Rock country.

Big Society began life as an indie rock n roll band and are now maturing into a tight and ambitious chamber pop outfit. 2022 saw the release of their 3rd EP ‘A quick One, While We’re Waiting’, sold out shows in Manchester, festival appearances in the UK and Ireland and their first million streams on Spotify. They’ve performed on a prestigious slot at Bob Dylan and Neil Young’s Hyde Park gig and have been played on Radio 1, BBC Introducing and Radio X.

2023 will see the release of their debut album and a UK tour in support.

Rory A. Green is a Manchester based guitarist and composer. He draws his inspiration from the worlds of jazz and folk music and focuses his compositions around dynamics, feel and spaces within music to tell stories about growing up mixed race, mental health and other personal topics.
