Run for Joy 2026

Run for Joy is back - a 5K walk/run through the Yonge & Lawrence neighbourhood in memory of Sarah Joy Short.

First held in 2019 and again in 2022, this marks the third time we are coming together to honour her in a way that feels true to who she was.

Sarah loved long walks and having her friends come with her. She also loved summer camp - a place where she formed many friendships.

This day reflects both: a chance to get outside and celebrate the joy Sarah brought into so many lives, while raising funds for the Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund, helping send thousands of children facing financial barriers to summer camp.

We look forward to bringing together friends, family, and community members for a meaningful day.

Event Timeline:

1. Meet at the main entrance of Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute at 12:45 pm

2. We will take off on our 5k route at 1:00 pm (sharp!): https://tinyurl.com/3hckk49h

3. After finishing, all participants are welcome to grab food and drinks at Safari Bar and Grill. We have reserved space on the 2nd floor from 1:45 pm onward. Location: 1749 Avenue Road.
