Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi—better known as Rumi—was a 13th-century poet, mystic, and Sufi scholar whose legacy has endured for hundreds of years. Today, he’s one of the world’s most widely read poets.
Rumi’s poetry has been translated into many different languages, His poems have often been sung and set to music and his poems read with a musical accompaniment. Rumi viewed music, poetry, and dance as a sacred spiritual path to connect with the Divine. He believed that melodies and rhythms help focus the human soul and open the heart to God
In this one –off performance you’ll get to hear Rumi’s poetry sung and spoken in Farsi, Urdu and English, with a live musical accompaniment.
