Our beginners class is Rumba, a slow latin dance, characterised as romantic, sensual and passionate. It's one of the easier dances to learn and can be danced to a wide variety of music, including contemporary popular songs. Our improvers class will be learning the jive. This was first danced in the 1930s by African Americans in the US. It was popularised by swing band leaders through the 1940s. Today it is regarded as one of the five Latin American competition dances. It as also a super fun, faster social dance.
