Ruhbaru Chapter I: The Orchestral Qawwali Project (India Tour 2026)

Following acclaimed performances at iconic international venues including London’s Royal Albert Hall, Roundhouse, and Barbican The Orchestral Qawwali Project (OQP) makes its highly anticipated India debut this December.

Presented as the inaugural chapter of Ruhbaru a new cultural platform by Cultural (Mis)fits dedicated to bringing transformative live arts experiences to India, the tour features award-winning composer Rushil Ranjan alongside vocalist, veena virtuoso, and multi-instrumentalist Abi Sampa.

Together with a full ensemble, OQP seamlessly bridges the spiritual intensity and improvisational energy of traditional Sufi qawwali with the grandeur, architecture, and sweeping scale of Western orchestral music. Complemented by elements of Indian classical instrumentation and classical dance, the performance offers an immersive, boundary-transcending sonic journey.
