Hailing from the vibrant musical landscape of South Africa, DJ Chiedza emerges is a dynamic force in the Bristol DJ scene, pulsating with the rhythms of the diaspora. Her sonic palette weaves a tapestry of soulful amapiano, melodic Afro-house, and the bassy beats of GQOM, crafting an electrifying fusion that transcends borders. A regular DJ on Noods Radio and having recently warmed up for Kilimanjaro's surprise Bristol appearance, Chiedza's s sets are not just auditory experiences, but journeys of joy and unity. We can't wait to see what she brings to the Ruffnek dancefloor!
Burland has been primarily working with West African artists to make a hybrid sound between Afrobeat, Dancehall, Percussion and 140, UK Garage & Bass music. His previous collaborations include K.O.G (Nubiyan Twist, Onipa), Zongo Abongo (The Busy Twist), Master Drummer Okoe Ashiboi (formerly Kakatsitsi) and a remix project with Fixate. A regular on BBC Radio 6, Burland has received support from Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supernova and Toddla T - Madam X, Tash LC and Chloé Robinson over at BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, as well as a track feature in DJ Mag courtesy of Sicaria. Serious musician, we're utterly stoked he's coming to play for us!
Ruffnek regulars, and Super Soca Show core members, Atki2, Dub Boy and Jonesy Wales will be on the support duties. Expect plenty of exclusives, including hot productions from Jonesy's studio, and fresh cuts from Atki2's new album 'Bubble On' which drops imminently!
