About the Venue:
The Heights (a National Trust property) is one of the largest surviving prefabricated houses in Victoria, set in a flourishing garden. Originally imported from Germany in 1854 for businessman Charles Ibbotson, the house was modified and modernised in the 1930s by architect Harold Bartlett.
The Heights was home to the Whytes, a society couple who decorated their home in up-to-the-minute 1930s style. The intact kitchen is a must-see, as are the floral garden beds when in bloom. The villa’s garden retains its nineteenth century gardenesque charm, complete with a rose arbour, formal bedding layout, and carriage drive. Stables, a water tower, groom’s cottage, and dovecote are unique nineteenth-century outbuildings ready for exploration.
Community Impact:
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is more than an event; it is a chance for communities to unite in the fight against cancer. All proceeds will help the ACRF continue its research into innovative treatments and contribute to a future free of cancer.
