The Roving Wave Festival is a traveling festival throughout Yavapai County produced by The Carpetbag Brigade Physical Theater Company. The festival will be in Prescott on October 19 and Sedona on October 20.
There will be acrobatic stilt dancing, contact juggling, experimental dance, poetry, puppets, and live music.
All events are free of charge to the general public.
October 19 (2pm - 5pm) - Courthouse Square, Prescott
October 20 (3pm - 5pm) - Posse Grounds, Sedona
Prescott schedule begins with a free one hour yoga class from Samantha Beasley of Bend Hot Yoga. Bring your yoga mat and join the fun from 2pm to 3pm. 3pm the performances begin.
The festival features the acrobatic stilt dancing of The Carpetbag Brigade performing their new work “Flotsam & Jetsam”. Driven by a passion for story and service Chase Archer has been connecting with audiences through juggling, flow arts and new circus theater for over a decade. Meg & Thatcher’s “OK Apocalypse” aims to dress the wounds, set the bones, cool the fever and bring down the swelling of our collective trauma in the very midst of turmoil through story, song, poetry, movement and connection. Mona Nyree shares her poetry with the audience and The TBD Show Puppets comically satirize current living conditions poking fun at the follies of humanity.
