A Persian food and cultural gathering in Rotterdam
As summer fades, join us in Rotterdam to welcome the arrival of autumn through Persian food, stories and culture.
In Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, Haft Khaan is the story of Rostam’s journey through seven trials. In Persian, khaan can also mean a sofreh—a spread laid out for people to gather, eat and share stories.
Khaan-e Avval: The Arrival of Autumn is the first gathering in Persian Feast’s seven-part Haft Khaan series, bringing these two meanings together through a journey of cultural and culinary experiences.
For our first Khaan, we gather around an autumn table inspired by the flavours, ingredients and traditions of Iran as the seasons begin to change.
What’s included in your €45 ticket
4-course autumn tasting menu
Our menu includes:
• Feta cheese with fresh herbs
• Warming Ash-e Haft-Ghalle, a traditional seven-grain ash
• Khoresht-e Beh-o Aloo — chicken, quince and plum stew served with saffron rice and crispy tahdig
• Persian brewed black tea and halva
• Homemade accompaniments served throughout the meal
A little something to take home
You’ll receive printed recipe cards for the main course and Ash-e Haft-Ghalle, so you can bring a part of the experience into your own kitchen.
