The first chapter of roter confirmed everything we believed the dancefloor could still be. From the moment the doors opened, the energy inside Mettle Works felt different, a room full of open minds, serious sound, and people there for the right reasons. No distractions, no ego, no endless phones in the air. Just incredible music played properly, on a soundsystem built to be felt as much as heard. The response was undeniable. Dancers stayed locked in for hours, conversations flowed between strangers, and the atmosphere carried that rare sense of togetherness that so many nights have lost along the way.Now, roter returns.
The second instalment pushes even further into our vision for the future of underground dance music culture in Chelmsford. Once again, the lineup remains undisclosed until the night itself. Once again, DJs are given the time and freedom to properly explore sound, build tension, and take the room somewhere meaningful through extended sets rooted in house, techno, electro and breaks. No headline-chasing. No algorithm-driven booking policies. Just artists selected for their ability to move a room and create a genuine connection between music, space and crowd.
