A bit about Kat:
Kat Barrow-Horth is a Miami native and Gulliver graduate, as well as the owner of Robin Rile Fine Art and founder of Comic Kids, a nonprofit that teaches vulnerable children how to draw comic, cartoon, and book characters, with a mission to make art education free and accessible to those in need. Since launching Robin Rile Fine Art in 2008 and Comic Kids in 2020, Kat has dedicated her career to the arts and to providing children in pediatric hospitals, foster care, shelters, and special needs centers with free learn-to-draw activities.
Through Comic Kids, she has published four art books, including her most recent for children on the autism spectrum, supported by the Coral Gables Community Foundation. She has partnered with the University of Miami’s Business School students to roll out Comic Kids book drives for underserved youth in Miami and her work has been featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show in recognition for its community impact. In 2025 alone, Comic Kids’ free digital art curriculum was downloaded by teachers internationally over 65,000 times.
This fall, Kat will launch a bilingual video drawing series for pediatric hospitals nationwide through Ryan Seacrest Studios, made possible in partnership with the University of Miami’s Spanish Broadcasting program. Her vision is to scale Comic Kids into a digital-first model, through books, videos, and curriculum, ensuring the most vulnerable children have free access to the power of art.
