Catered lunch provided by the Alberta Shul, potluck dinners Monday and Tuesday night.
Accessibility Info: Jewish wisdom teaches us that as a community, we are responsible for caring for each other. Thank you in advance for following our Covid Protocols and contributing to make this space as accessible as possible for all members of our community.
COVID Protocols:
- We ask that participants test before arriving at Oxbow. This can be a molecular/PCR (within 72 hours of arrival) or an at-home rapid antigen test on the day of arrival
- If you have had COVID-19 within the 2-8 weeks leading up to the gathering, please take a rapid test instead of a PCR, since a PCR test could result in a false positive
- We will not be checking tests. Tests are asked to be done on the honor system
- We will have a limited number of rapid tests available for those who are unable to access a test beforehand
- All ritual leaders for the Tuesday morning service will take a molecular test the morning of the service
- Masks are not required for the service if we are in the open air space with distancing possible. If the service is moved under coverage due to rain, masking is strongly encouraged for those who are able to mask.
Physical Space ()
- Service and camping are at the group campsite at Oxbow State Park
- Parking is on flat gravel and there will be designated access spots
- Tuesday morning service will take place in a flat grassy area about 50-100ft from parking if it is not raining
- In the case of rain, the service will take place in a cement covered area, which is where the catered lunch will take place
- Bathrooms are accessible via the gravel parking lot and are ~100 ft from the primary parking area
- Camping is in a wooded area with dirt and pine needles as ground cover and potential spots of uneven ground
- Tashlich location along the Sandy River has not been determined and may involve walking down a sloped gravel or dirt pathway, but there are many access spots to the river that will be scoped out in advance or upon arrival the day prior
Food
- Sharing your dietary information is a part of the ticketing process, and we will do our best to meet your dietary needs
- Catered lunch will be vegetarian with gluten free options
- Additional meals for campers are potluck or on your own
- Bring your own snacks and food for meals as needed to meet any specific dietary needs
Fragrances
- We want the space to be as low fragrance as possible. To respect participants with allergies and environmental sensitivities, we ask that you refrain from wearing fragrances during this retreat (this includes essential oils and scented bug spray).
- We will have scent free hand soap available in the public bathrooms. For more information about this, including a list of fragrance-free products you can consider using, check out this guide from the East Bay Meditation Center.
Reading Materials
- We will have a few copies of the service materials in large print.
Animals
- Pets are welcome to join if they are able to be easily managed to not interrupt the service and to avoid anyone with allergens.
