Info: Step into a dance experience where ancient traditions and contemporary forms converge. This
open-level contemporary dance workshop invites movers of all backgrounds into a rich and
nuanced exploration of form, flow, and cultural memory, rooted in Eastern aesthetics and
interwoven with contemporary technique.
Drawing from the meditative energies of Tai Chi, the dynamic expressivity of Classical Chinese
dance, and the grounded expansiveness found in Mongolian and Tibetan movement
vocabularies, this class centers both clarity of intention and embodied imagination. Participants
will explore how breath, rhythm, and gesture can be shaped into intricate physical poetry,
balancing softness with strength, release with control, and tradition with experimentation

Info: Designed for the beginner dancer, this class is an introduction to the technique, music, and folklore of dances from select regions of West Africa. Class begins with a warm-up, proceeds to a break-down of dance technique and history, and concludes with progression lines across the floor.
