Join us at St. Mary's Catholic Church (both outside on the parking lot and inside) to learn more about how you can fix up your house, buy a house, and/or help your community!* If you want to fix up your home:
- Learn how you can borrow tools for free from the Station North Tool Library
- Attend a workshop from the Tool Library on home maintenance and proper picture hanging.
- Learn about lower-interest loans and matching grants from Healthy Neighborhoods if you own a home and live in one of our seven Healthy Neighborhoods (Mid-Govans, Woodbourne-McCabe, Kenilworth Park, Winston-Govans, Radnor-Winston, Richnor Springs, or Wilson Park).
- Learn about other lower-interest home maintenance loans from NHS-Baltimore at the York Road Partnership table.
- Learn about no-interest forgivable loans from the Baltimore City Dept. of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) if your income is low enough to qualify.
* If you want to save on your utility bills, learn about making your home more energy efficient with Civic Works.
* If you are a modest-income senior homeowner or person with disabilities who needs home repair, learn about free assistance from Rebuilding Together Baltimore.
* If you have a modest income and are struggling with your bills:
- Learn about free Weatherization to bring your energy bills down through the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD)
- Learn about programs to help you with your water bills and property taxes from Baltimore City DHCD and York Road Partnership.
* If you are worried about lead hazards in your home, learn about reducing them from the Baltimore City Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD).
* If you inherited your home but haven’t yet gotten your name on the deed, learn about how to get help from the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service.
* If you don’t have money for a lawyer but know you need a will, talk with the Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Service.
* If you are renting and want to buy a home, learn about:
- Lower-interest mortgage products on our corridor from Healthy Neighborhoods.
- Down payment and repair assistance in certain neighborhoods from Live Baltimore.
- Other down-payment assistance from Baltimore City DHCD.
