For the next episode of Roots & Culture Antwerp we invited for the fourth time! Chalice Soundsystem outta lille, France.
For those who remember their sessions in Zappa with Keety Roots, Vivian Jones and of course the legendary session with Jahmbassador Hi-Fi. You know this will be a session not to be missed.
Chalice Soundsystem plays in the tradition of Jamaican and English roots sound systems (single deck, microphone animation, effects, etc.). The sound selections range from Jamaican roots from the 70s and 80s to recent UK roots dub productions. The sound system has its own sound system
built on the UK sound model, i.e., a handcrafted PA capable of reproducing deep and physical bass frequencies! Chalice Sound System has performed extensively on regional, national, and international stages in France, Belgium, Germany, Serbia, Spain, and England (Jamaican Carnival, UNOD Festival, DubSchool, etc.). Founded in 1996, the goal remains to promote common values of tolerance, respect, peace, exchange, and unity among peoples regardless of color, class, or religion through sound system culture. For this coronation dance we are excited to bring you Entebbe Sound
foundation Roots and Culture Reggae Soundsystem hailing from North London, UK.
Formed in 1978. Growing up and going to school together they decided at an earl age to spread together Roots Reggae Music.
They specialize in authentic reggae soundsystem culture, playing and producing music reminiscent of classic producers and offering spiritual experiences.
Entebbe is led by Ras P, with Ras Tuffy Irie and Gadman who also select for the sound.
Known as the Original Rasta Chanters they will bring a selection of heavy
dubplates and classic releases in a Roots Rock reggae rastafari style!
