Join us for a conversation exploring the history of the beauty industry, the labor that built it, and emerging ideas around salon ownership, training pathways, and community-building. Together, we'll examine how race and gender have shaped beauty and grooming work, education, licensing, salons and barbershops, and industry structures—and what new possibilities may lie ahead.
This event will be valuable for those who:
• Love the history and hidden stories of the beauty industry
• Are new to the profession and want to understand the bigger picture
• Want to strengthen their local beauty community
• Are curious about alternative salon models and career pathways
• Need inspiration for what the future of beauty work could become
Whether you're a hairstylist, barber, esthetician, educator, salon owner, student, or simply passionate about the industry, we invite you to join the conversation.
