About this Event
Milwaukee PBS Presents: ROOTS AND LEGACY: JESUS SALAS
Screening & Panel Discussion

Join us for a special event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and our vibrant Latino community! Milwaukee PBS is proud to present the new documentary ROOTS AND LEGACY: JESUS SALAS by Producer of ¡Adelante!, Patricia Gómez, Editor Yvonne Sanchez, and Associate Producer Salvador Gomez.
The documentary ROOTS AND LEGACY: JESUS SALAS is based on Jesus Salas' memoir "Obreros Unidos: The Roots and Legacy of the Farmworkers Movement". It sheds light on the historical struggle of Latino migrant farmworkers during the 1960s. Facing harsh living conditions, they united to confront employers who denied them their rights. The movement led to new social services organizations and significant progress for Latinos in Wisconsin.
Screening followed by panel discussion Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to come together and honor the contributions, rich culture, and heritage of our Latino community!
