Rooted Readers: Story Time & Family Literacy Event

Rooted Readers is a family-centered literacy event designed to bring parents/guardians and children together through stories, creativity, and community.

Join us at Manassas Public Library for a fun and engaging experience featuring story time with featured author Desmond Ross, interactive reading activities, family icebreakers, and a hands-on creative activity where children and parents can write and illustrate their own story together.

This event is designed for families to participate side by side, helping children build a stronger connection to reading while creating meaningful moments with the adults in their lives.

What to expect:

• Reading Bingo and interactive group activities
• Creative story writing and illustration
• A fun whole-group literacy game
• Library engagement and encouragement to continue reading beyond the event
