Formato Fine Arts is pleased to present Rooted in Place, an exhibition of oil paintings by Anika Whittier, on view July 23 through September 9.
Based in Fort Chiswell, Virginia, Whittier paints the barns and historic buildings of Southwest Virginia, often working on site in plein air. Her practice is grounded in a direct connection to the landscape, extending to studies of local wildflowers and garden blooms that capture the quiet beauty of the region.
Join us for an opening reception on Wednesday, July 23 at 7 PM. The artist will be in attendance, and music by Azlan Montgomery, wine, and drinks will be served throughout the evening.
Dress is casual; come as you are.
