Rooted, Connected, Inspired: A Lights On Afterschool Celebration

Join us for Rooted, Connected, Inspired - an upbeat in-person bash celebrating afterschool programs and community!
About this Event

Celebrate the people and purpose behind afterschool at Rooted, Connected, Inspired: A Lights On Celebration. This unique gathering brings together out-of-school time professionals from across Illinois for an afternoon of connection, recognition, and outdoor exploration at Big Marsh Park.

The event will begin with program highlights, ACT Now updates, and recognition of outstanding OST leaders and partners. Together, we'll celebrate the impact of afterschool programs and the dedicated professionals who make them possible.

The second half of the event will be led by Chicago Adventure Therapy and will feature hands-on outdoor experiences designed to promote well-being, strengthen connections, and inspire new approaches to youth development. You will Choose Your Own Adventure at Big Marsh Park, selecting either hiking, biking, or team-building activities while exploring how outdoor recreation can be intentionally used to reduce stress, build resilience, foster collaboration, and support social-emotional well-being.
