Rooted & Remembered: Relief, Clay & Story-making workshop

About this Event

Artist Amaya Estrada invites participants into a hands-on exploration of clay, plants, and storytelling through the creation of sculptural relief vessels inspired by memory, migration, and our relationship with the natural world.

Using locally gathered and culturally significant botanicals, participants will imprint leaves, herbs, and textures into clay while reflecting on the physical, and intangible landscapes that have shaped them. Through guided creative prompts and poetry, each vessel becomes a personal archive—holding stories of movement, resilience, ancestry, and the ways we cultivate belonging across generations.

No prior experience is necessary. Participants will leave with a sculptural clay vessel infused with botanical impressions, poetry, and their own evolving story.

Every month we curate a creative placemaking workshop featuring artists within our ecosystem who will guide participants to engage with history and artistic expression in meaningful, interactive ways.

Expect to explore and activate YOUR creativity through; writing, movement, sound, instrumentation and visual artistic mediums to be activated.
