"Sadé Awele"
Described by Exclaim! Media as an artist that needs to be heard in 2020, Sadé Awele is the afro infused r&b artist we have been waiting for. Having won AFAM's female artist of the year award, she has captivated spaces with her timeless lyrics and jazzy tone.
The Nigerian-born singer is inspired by her Yoruba & Ibo heritage, which you experience in her music that ranges from afro-soul with and conscious alternative r&b to neo-soul and contemporary r&b. Her music is certainly in a category of its own.
Her most recent work includes a series of singles with accompanied music videos available on all music platforms, Youtube & IGTV. "Adewolf"
Adewolf is a Nigerian born musician, songwriter, producer and art director based in Vancouver. He started experimenting with music and art from a young age and began professionally showcasing his creative abilities for the past 8 years. His musical style is an amalgamation of Afrobeats, Hip hop, R&B and Reggae to form a blend of genres he likes to define as Afrohop. Adewolf’s first major single “Mary and Me” was featured in the popular West African web series “Gidi Up” where it became a favourite track amongst the Nigerian community.
In 2019, Adewolf went on to write and release his first EP titled ‘IPharaoh”. This EP found solace with many music lovers as he explored his struggles with mental health and his complex relationship with technology all through the lens of an African man in a western world. This EP established him as an afro hop artist in Vancouver as he went on to perform at his own sold out EP release party and perform at some of the biggest venues in Vancouver. Adewolf opened for major afrobeat stars, including Falz The Bad Guy, Afro B, and Teni the Entertainer across various venues in Vancouver.
His success with the EP also landed him an opening performance for Grammy nominated artist Burna Boy at the Vogue Theatre. In that same year, he worked with Toronto based director, Abba Makama, to compose singles for his independent films “The Lost Okoroshi” and “Green White Green” which both premiered at TIFF. Adewolf most recently won the 2020 CITR Shindig’s band competition with his highly skilled band, The 3ribe.

"Tissa Rahim"
Tissa Rahim, the Persian Powerhouse, is an established West Coast musician with a 40-city North American tour under her belt. She has performed at House of Blues in New Orleans, the Gramercy Theatre in New York, and Vancouver’s quintessential jazz and soul club, Guilt and Co. Named one of 24 Magazine’s “Top 24 under 24”, her collaborators include producers such as 100 Monkeys’ Jackson Rathbone.
As a solo artist, Tissa is able to freely explore her effortless Soul/RnB sound, infusing it with the traditional Persian music her family has made for generations. Beyond performing as a solo act up to a 6-piece band, she has led workshops on how her Middle Eastern roots have influenced her contemporary songwriting. Tissa's signature vocal style combines the depth of Amy Winehouse with the melodic playfulness of Googoosh.
Since 2019, Rahim has built up an enticing catalogue as a solo artist, consisting of digital releases, videos and a number of collaborations with artists in Vancouver and beyond. Tissa's newest single “Sunrise To Sunset” was written as part of Music BC's Canadian Songwriter Challenge, where she placed in the Top 15.
