ARTIST BIO's:

DUST CWAINE
“Dust Cwaine (aka David Cutting) is a Singer-Songwriter and Drag Artist. They are a Non-Binary Aromantic, known for their bright and earthy creativity. Dust’s art centers itself in the political nature of queer identity, evoking a sense of belonging and togetherness with their presence in live spaces.
Dust’s music carries inspiration from the alt rock insurgence of the late 90’s and early 2000’s, lyrically weaving earnesty with humor, for an emotional familiarity that is immediately disarming. Their debut LP titled “Arcana” is set to be released September 23rd 2022, explores themes of fatness, sexuality, death, Aromanticism, and sacrifice. “Arcana” was produced in collaboration with Josh Eastman of Helm Studios and features production from PLEASEBENiCE and Ashton. Also featured on the album is rapper Tea Fannie (YYC)
Arcana is nostalgia pop navel gaze for grown theater kids.”

KYLIE V
“Kylie V (they/them) is a young queer singer-songwriter from Vancouver, BC. They released their debut album, Big Blue, in 2021 (at age 17) to critical acclaim, KEXP calling it "the platonic ideal of indie folk". With a knack for vivid lyricism and a hauntingly strong voice, they write and perform an honest and strikingly vulnerable combo of rock, folk, and pop. In other words, Kylie is poised and ready to make you cry. Their newest release, The Runaway EP, is out now.”

ROOT DWELLERS RESIDENT POET: ELLIOTT SLINN
"Elliott Slinn was named New Westminster’s fifth (and youngest) Poet Laureate in June 2021, actively beginning his tenure in August. His work has been described as immediate and accessible, as he explores the existential events of our day-to-day existence. His goal is to break the barriers surrounding poetry, and to bridge the gap from heart to heart."
At our events, you'll find Elliott perched atop a high table with his 1929 typewriter. He spends the evening crafting stunning poetry, by donation, for our audience members. All you have do is approach him, give him a word or a short story and he'll produce the most magical piece of personalized poetry for you.
