Montreal-based Ron Di Lauro Sextet is known for its sophisticated arrangements and emotive performances as well as for the incredibly astute homage it pays to Miles Davis’ iconic album Kind of Blue – widely regarded as one of the greatest jazz albums of all time. Ron Di Lauro Sextet’s masterful interpretation captures the spirit of the album, while infusing it with a modern sensibility – its timeless qualities blend with the individual voices of the musicians. Di Lauro channels the essence of Davis, whose playing was characterized by lyrical beauty and understated yet relentless adventurism.
