ROMA ODISSI FESTIVAL (DAY 2 - ONLINE EVENT)

Roma Odissi Festival brings together Indian classical dance artists to present their tailored choreographies on global peace.

Performing arts has the unique potential to communicate to different audiences cutting across boundaries and socio-economic divides. Artists from across Europe and India come together to share their interpretation of peace through dance. At a time, when the world is reeling under multiple crises, the festival aims to unite performing artists for peace.

The two day festival will culminate with an evening of Odissi dance-drama pieces themed on global peace. Performing artists from different parts of Europe and India will present their tailored choreographies.

One of the oldest Indian classical dance form, Odissi's vocabulary has evolved over time. With the practitioners of today using the dance form to convey stories, messages which matters the society at large. For many, the dance form is a mode of communication with the other and themselves.

Proceedings from the festival will support People in Need, a Chez non-government organization working across crisis affected regions, including Ukraine.
