Rolling Hertz 5 Year Anniversary Bass Teaser (17th Oct):
We’ve hand-picked a multi genre lineup repping the full spectrum of bass music you can expect at the big dance in Feb — from deep dark rollers, to hefty halftime, jungle and more.
All pushing the boundaries of deep and thumping bass.
Headling the night we’re flying down Wavrunnr from Auckland. Bringing with him his arsenal of hardware instruments to craft an immersive live experience of bass music. Expect gangster grooves, immersive soundscapes, and some straight-up wizardry.
WAVRUNNR is an exciting live act hailing from Muriwai, on the rugged West Coast of Aotearoa. Renowned for delivering high-energy hardware performances, his live sets explore the deeper and darker ends of the bass music spectrum. Every WAVRUNNR performance is built on entirely original material, performed live on a carefully curated setup of beloved music machines. Expect a steady stream of melting basslines, earthy drums, deep rhythms, genre-defying switches, and immersive sonic mayhem. Each set is a unique, electrifying experience - raw, dynamic and deeply rooted in the underground.

Backing him up are Ōtautahi heavyweights Caspian & Orca — both local dons who’ve been shaping the scene with their selections and productions.
Caspian is a young DJ and Producer based in Ōtautahi but originally from Riwaka. He produces and mixes music within the realms of Halftime Dnb, Jungle and Minimal Drum and Bass.
With a selection of self-released music, Caspian has had music released on a number of NZ labels with a handful of releases on international Jungle/ DnB labels such as Armory, Onset Audio and Danger Chamber.
Expect to hear a lot of original production with a mixture of intense Halftime Dnb breaks and atmospheric Jungle.

Orca is a rising force in the Ōtautahi underground, delivering weighty selections that span the spectrum of bass music. With a focus on 140s, dub, and halftime, his sets move between deep, atmospheric rollers and heavy, floor-shaking dubs — always with an ear for vibe and flow.

And coming in hot from the top of the south with a hefty b2b2b is a steeze selection of the sound delinquent roster: Ratch, Otter, and Looin.
