From the early days of jazz, saavy listeners could always find dancing rhythms, melodic twists and passionate intensity that arise from musical recipes which include ingredients from Latin, South American and Caribbean influence.  

Join Trombonist Roland Barber for a sensational concert of Latin Jazz, from its historic roots to more modern developments for this energetic and timely tribute during Hispanic Heritage Month.  

Many are familiar with Roland's accolades in the jazz world, including performances alongside Wynton Marsalis, the Duke Ellington Orchestra and others - but behind those scenes, Roland has developed a great talent and passion for Latin Jazz, Salsa and Afro-Cuban music.  He has performed with artists including La India, Bobby Sanabria, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Jimmy Bosch, Abraham Laboriel, Manny Oquendo y Libre, the Arturo O'Farill Orchestra, and many more.  

For this one-night-only concert, Roland brings an incredible line-up of Nashville's great musicians who speak both "Latin" and "Jazz" fluently! On the keys, you'll hear young phenom Marc Payne.  On the drums, carrying us from Cuba to New Orleans to New York City, you'll hear Bryan Brock.  Driving the band on the acoustic bass, there's Jon Estes.  Bringing the fire of the congas and percussion, welcome a true treasure (and alum of Celia Cruz's band) - John Santos! And to top it all off, plan to enjoy some wonderful vocals by the marvelous Crystal Miller!
